I don't have much to say, so here's some random thoughts for today-
1.Man am I pooped. I haven't even done anything today...but I'm still pooped.
2.I think my mom is gonna color my hair in a little bit. I just want it back to my normal hair color. I'm tired of having to keep up with it.
3.I might be going canoeing tomorrow with my friend Jacob. We've been friends for a while but haven't seen each other in a while. So we're gonna hang out. Well, canoe. Not so much hang out. Oh well, you know what I mean.
4. I'm hungry.
5. My birthday is in exactly 10 days. I'll be 14.
6. My dad will start teaching me to drive soon.
7. I'm going to Florida on the 18th. I'll be gone till the 28th. I'm going so I can see my friend Deanna. She's been my bestest friend since like before 2nd grade. She had to move to Florida a few years ago. I'm VEEEEEEEEERY excited about going to see her.
8. I miss my friends from school.
9. I'm going to a spa with my mom for my birthday. We're going to get the FULL treatment. I'm excited about that, too.
10. I have to pee.
11. Not any more.
12. My dad will be out of town on my birthday. Again. As usual.
13. I need to get out of this darn house.
14. That's prolly why I'm excited about canoeing tomorrow.
15. Now I'm really hungry.
16. I'm gonna go now to see what we're having for dinner.

I haven't done much today except sit in briefings all day long, and I had to take a nap! I now know not to drink and drive (dur) and to beware of sexual assault (double-dur).
Is your dad gonna teach you to drive in the back yard? 'Cause, even as growed up as you're getting, it's still illegal for you to practice driving on real streets until you're old enough to get a permit. Just sayin'. Stop rushing to grow up so fast, Sweetie - adulthood will be here before you know it.
And, ooops, Happy Late Birthday! Man, your mom made 14 such a very fun year for me! Remind her of that EVERY CHANCE YOU GET!
HAVE FUN IN FLORIDA!!! I know how thrilled you must be to see Deanna - it'll be your very own mini-Gathering-of-Junior-Goddesses!

I'm really sorry that I missed your birthday, sweetheart. We'd always behaved as if the day itself wasn't as important as the day we chose to celebrate your birthday.
But if that has changed and you really are disappointed that I wasn't there for your birthday, I'll make a double-extra effort to be there for you on your next birthday.
